ABOUT MARSS

Launched by makeup artist Mariam Salawu in 2023. Marss Beauty is gradually becoming a fast growing makeup brand. Beginning as make-up artist in 2019, fueled by a lifelong passion for beauty which led Mariam to enrol at a prestigious makeup academy in Ibadan, cultivating a roster of clientele including A-list celebrities. Soon after, Mariam founded her makeup brand MARSSBEAUTY.COM and later launched an Instagram account with the same name.

Inspiration & Innovation

“As a child, I was always so fascinated with makeup. I watched my mum put it on every day and looked forward to satisfying my curiosity every time she left it unattended. When I first started my career in beauty, I was working as a makeup artist which I absolutely loved but I still felt incomplete like I wasn’t getting my beauty service delivered to enough people. I wanted to help others by making quality beauty products accessible to all. I knew that beauty sometimes feels unattainable but it is an essential armour needed to get through daily life and it should not be limited to just the privileged. So I willed it in my heart to change that and ultimately, Marssbeauty.com became a brand that serves shades and colours for all skin tones, and a community for those who believe in the confidence that makeup gives.

Building a community

“My experience in the beauty industry has allowed me to really understand and appreciate the industry and also see it in different perspectives. We have an engaged community who are always telling us what they want to have, so we take into consideration the comments we see on social media and create products that are in demand. We want each of our products to serve a purpose, so we take inspiration from our community, this way we give every person the power to enjoy what they should no matter who they are or where they are from. Because with Marss redefining beauty as a whole, a new confidence is unleashed and this is the ultimate goal for us”
